Job Description

Are you passionate about shaping young minds and making a difference in the lives of children Teaching Consultancy is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teachers for a wide range of positions across schools in London.You will be responsible for teaching students with a wide range of SEN needs, including ASD, PMLD, SLD and SEMH.These positions cover EYFS-KS4, with some going into Further Education. These roles are due to start in January 2024, and many will last the whole academic year, with the potential of permanent contacts being issued as well.We are dedicated to helping teachers find their next dream teaching role and with many of our consultants being previous teachers, we know what a hard and amazing job you have to do and we want to support you.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the National Curriculum for your given year group.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and fosters a love for learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance teaching strategies, resources, and educational programs.
  • Establish strong communication and relationships with parents, providing regular updates on students progress and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, recognized in the UK. (Some schools may accept QTLS)
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teacher with a strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Knowledge of alternative communication methods, such as Makaton.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children with diverse educational needs and abilities.
  • Previous experience in a UK-based school setting.
  • Demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities or school events.
