Job Description

Learning Support Assistant

  • Location: Kensington and Chelsea, London
  • Position: Full-time SEN 1-1 LSA
  • Start date: January 2024
  • Pay: £1800 - £2100 per month

If you have a passion for workingwith children who require extra support and thrive in a fun and engaging environment, we want to hear from you!About the school:This wonderful Catholic Primary School is a top performing, outstanding (OFSTED, 2013) school in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea. They are a voluntary aided school with deep Catholic roots. It is a small school which has the benefit of allowing the staffto get to know the children and families really well. This means that anyone who joins the school becomes a valued and integral member of the community.The Role: Were looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN 1-1 Learning Support Assistant to collaborate with a primary aged child who is on an EHCP. Your role will involve providing personalized support and assistance to help the studentreach their full potential in both academic and social settings.Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the child, implementing their EHCP effectively.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment, encouraging engagement and participation in learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance during classroom sessions and various activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans.
  • Promote independence and confidence in the students learning journey.
  • Maintain positive communication with teaching staff and parents/guardians regarding progress and challenges.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEN children is essential.
  • Qualifications or certifications in SEN are highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to term-time working hours: 31.25 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 3:15 pm).
