Job Description

SEMH Learning Mentor, in Redbridge - ASAP

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work within a secondary School based in Redbridge supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health). We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable Learning SupportAssistant, that will be able to support pupils on a daily basis in the classroom. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various SEND needs, experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential. You will play a key rolein supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence, in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.Job Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH
  • Supervising pupils behaviour
  • Encourage and support the pupils learning and development
  • Support social interaction
  • Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements
  • Experience of support children or adults with SEMH
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Strong communication skills

  • Available 5 days a week
  • Able to commit to 6-12 months or permanent
