Scrum Master - Digital Transformation - InsuranceScrum MasterAgile, Digital, SoftwareLondon Insurance MarketHybrid/ City, LondonPermanent Up to £75,000 per annum + benefits + 15% bonusScrum Master - Agile - Insurance - London Market - Epics - Missions - Sprint - Product - DigitalA leading London Market Insurer seeks an experienced Scrum Master to join their new Digital Transformation team and provide them with guidance on how to use Agile/Scrum practices.My client has been progressively implementing Agile practices and they now need an experienced Scrum Master to lead a team focusing on the development and implementation of key capabilities for their Finance & Claims Teams.Key Responsibilities:

  • Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices mentoring staff on the new processes as required, and ultimately owning the process to deliver software products and associated value to business customers
  • Initiating the scrum, creating and maintaining the Product Backlog and other artefacts to support tracking and reporting
  • Refining Agile processes to be adopted by the development team, in agreement with the Senior Developer and in alignment with Agile best practice guidelines
  • Guiding the team on self-organising to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Arranging daily stand-up meetings, schedule & facilitate meetings, demonstrations and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation process
  • Plan and organise Agile Ceremonies as required e.g. Missions, Epics & Sprint Planning and Retrospective meetings
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation
Required skills/ experience:
  • Experience in implementation of corporate Finance and Claims products (preferred)
  • Experience in playing the Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager role for at least two years for a software development team(s) that was diligently applying Scrum principles, theory and practices
  • Proven delivery capability, supported by specific examples
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the
  • Scrum approach e.g. Burndown reporting, Retrospective formats, handling bugs in the Product Backlog
  • A clear understanding of the difference between Missions, Epics and Sprints
  • Knowledge of different Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. and Agile tools e.g. JIRA
  • Awareness and experience with widely used Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous
