Start Date: July 2021 Pay: Academy Band 6 £20,493 (Actual Salary £15,190Responsibilities include: Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of childrenand young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come intocontact.To lead on whole schoolFirst Aid provision -acting as main First Aider and coordinating support from other First Aiders; tohave overview of First Aid training and ensure all are up-to-date with relevanttraining.To lead on risk assessments for students withmedical care requirementswithin school and for off-site activities andresidentials, including the training for staff.To co-ordinate, administer and maintain IndividualHealth Care Plans for pupils with specific medical needs in conjunction withparents and any other relevant healthcare professionals.To be responsible for administering prescribeddrugs which are necessary to be taken by pupils during the school day, ensuringthat parental consent is obtained and recorded.To be responsible for the safe-keeping ofprescribed drugs in a lockedcupboard.To maintain records of student health concerns andtrain staff as appropriate (e.g. use of epi-pen, procedures for asthma attacketc.)To actively promote good practice as stated inTrust policies.To support the Designated Teacher for ChildProtection- attend Child Protection meetings if required;To support students and families with a variety ofhealth and mental health related issues including self-harm, drugs, alcohol,eating disorders.Work with students with health concerns - supportto ensure appropriateattendance at lessons and continuance withlearning.To coordinate visits from the School Nurse Team toadminister student vaccinations.Work with parents of students with health concerns- to ensure maximum student participation as appropriate.Supervision / FirstAid responsibility duringsocial timesTo complete and keep up to date accident/near missdocumentationTo be responsible for maintaining stocks andordering medical supplies and equipment in order to ensure adequate emergencymedical resources exist within theschool.To carry out other duties reasonably deemed to bewithin the responsibility as requested by the Principal.Closing Date: 23/06/2021 at 09:00 Interviews: Interviews could be held before closingdate Information about the school About Us Spires Academy offersa distinctive small schoolenvironment and is justly proud of its reputation as a place where eachindividual is well known, listened to and encouraged to be the best they canbe.
