Job Description

Our client is a fully licensed UK bank, founded in 2017 by experienced business owners who recognised the disconnect between traditional business banking and the needs of modern SMEs. They are looking to hire Saving Operations Manager, directly reportinginto the COO.As the Savings Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and success of our clients business and retail deposit products. Your primary focus will be on providing operational excellence, managing third party suppliers, andensuring exceptional customer service throughout the entire customer journey. Working closely with various teams, you will help design and implement the roadmap for their deposit products, while keeping a keen eye on customer needs, market trends and competitorsto inform our strategy.Savings Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and develop a comprehensive strategy for business and retail deposits in collaboration with NSSL, ExCo, and the Product team.
  • Assist the Treasury department in developing and implementing the deposit pricing strategy and together propose new product launches and pricing changes to stay competitive in the market.
  • Work closely with the Product team to identify opportunities for new products, channels, and
  • enhancements to existing offerings.
  • Provide valuable insights into customer needs, behaviours, market trends, and competitor analysis to shape our strategic direction.
Third Party Supplier Management:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of business and retail savings operations, including the management of NSSL for the entire customer journey, from account opening to maturities.
  • Continuously review and optimise operational processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and ensure good customer outcomes.
  • Management of deposit aggregator platforms, ensuring the right product mix, pricing, and volumes are maintained.
  • Conduct annual reviews of third-party suppliers and processes in accordance with the governance framework.
  • Handle and manage change requests with third-party suppliers.
Service and Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure the operations team at NSSL provides professional and exceptional service to our savings
  • customers, consistently monitoring SLAs, adherence to processes, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Work with customer support teams at NSSL to resolve complaints and handle escalated issues to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights to make informed decisions for process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage all rate changes, product launches, and removals, ensuring all documentation is accurately prepared, checked, and verified before publication.
  • Monitor operational risks associated with deposit products and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring the banks adherence to relevant laws and standards.
  • Generate reports on operational and financial performance, key metrics, and KPIs for ExCo and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product, marketing, finance, treasury, regulatory reporting, and technology teams, to ensure seamless execution of savings-related initiatives.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews for new products to gather insights and drive continuous improvement.
Key skills, knowledge, and experience:
  • Bachelors degree. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in deposit operations management within the banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations and compliance related to deposit products.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interface with customers.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic banking environment.
