Job Description

Join us as a Rooster Money Squad Technical Lead

  • In this role, youll collaborate with our product managers and work on the design and technical architecture for roadmap estimation and project delivery
  • Day-to-day, youll be contributing to the strategy and vision while bringing out the best in your team as you report back to the Vice President of Engineering

  • We offer different types of working arrangements, so youll manage your team remotely, but have regular quarterly meetups in London and Bristol
What youll doAs a Rooster Money Squad Technical Lead, youll lead the planning, development and deployment of high-performance, robust and resilient systems, while overseeing the work quality of the software engineering teams, making sure it meets the technical standardsfor all output. Well need you to take responsibility for the consistent use of shared platform components and technologies within the software engineering teams. Alongside this, youll lead engagements with senior stakeholders to suggest appropriate technical solutions toachieve required product features. Youll also be responsible for:
  • Understanding how to clearly communicate with stakeholders across RoosterMoney and the wider development team to make sure we deliver something exceptional
  • Working with management to make sure that overall business objectives and key results are met
  • Managing and optimising to consistently refine and improve experiences
  • Sharing knowledge with your team to make sure the platform is kept at an excellent standard
The skills youll needTo be successful in this role, youll need an interest in the team and products at RoosterMoney. Knowledge of package management, including NPM, lakehouses, data lakes, Athena, Snowflake and Tableau would be beneficial. It would also be advantageous if you had experience of OpenAPI, Swagger, Cordova, WebSockets, Firebase, Crashlytics, analytics, TeamCity, GitHub actions, CI/CD, Webpack, esbuild, Linting software, static application security testing and dynamic applicationsecurity testing. Additionally, youll need:
  • To be a great leader by providing your team with dependable leadership from the front and by example and an understanding of how to manage others and get the best out of them
  • Experience of Typescript, Javascript, React, Redux, NodeJS, ExpressJS, HTTP methods, Restful, JSON web services, architectural pattens and coding principles
  • An understanding of Git, including peer review, GitFlow or Github flow, automated testing, Jest, HTML, cascading style sheets, large-scale scrum and structured query language (SQL)
  • Knowledge of Sass cascading style sheets, Amazon elastic container services, Cloud development kits, simple notification services and simple queue services
  • Experience of Xray, Lambda, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Transact-SQL and Presto
