Job DescriptionPost title:Risk/Investment AnalystReporting to: Risk and Investment ManagerLocation: 22 Lavington Street, London SE1 0NZSalary:Competitive (plus benefits)BackgroundLondon LGPS CIV Limited (“London CIV” or “LCIV”) has been established for and on behalf of London’s Boroughs and the City of London as an investment fund manager through which they can collaborate and collectivise the investment of their individual pensionfund assets worth approximately £48 billion.The Risk/Investment Analyst role will sit within the Investment Team at LCIV. You will be led by both the Head of Public Markets and Head of Investment Risk and Performance who both report into the CIO.PurposeAs a member of the Investment Team, the Risk/Investment Analyst will support colleagues with decision-making and other tasks to support our investment, responsible investment, risk management and monitoring processes.You will conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, ensuring that processes are implemented efficiently, whilst interacting with external investment managers and contributing to client-related and ad-hoc work alongside the generation of investment ideas.Strong alignment to LCIV Investment Beliefs is essential. The Investment team is compact, and you will be expected to show flexibility in contributing across all areas and a strong commitment to working collaboratively.Main Duties and Responsibilities- Implement the Bloomberg Enterprise risk monitoring platform across the range of ACS funds offered by London CIV.- Monitor LCIV Funds and investment portfolios, produce analysis using Bloomberg Enterprise and/or investment manager reports, share insight with colleagues and develop ideas for enhancing reporting to investors in LCIV funds.- Prepare and monitor various measures of Investment Risk across the ACS fund range, including Liquidity, Leverage and Tracking Error.- Document processes relating to the implementation of Bloomberg Enterprise and production of other reports generated for colleagues or external reports.- Develop expertise in the use of eVestment as a monitoring and screening tool.- Participate in meetings with external investment managers and contribute to the formal monitoring process.- Work on manager selection and fund modification projects.- Contribute as needed to Client-related and ad-hoc projects.- Support delivery of investment processes and procedures and contribute to enhancement of processes.- Liaise with the LCIV Operations and Fund Accounting teams, ensure accuracy of data and help resolve day to day issues.- Support colleagues with Fund transactions and transition projects.- Research market trends and investment managers and develop ideas with the wider team, with a particular focus on Investment Risk.Essential Experience/Skills- Relevant degree - business, mathematics, finance or economics preferred.- 1 year plus work experience in an asset manager, pension fund or consultancy- Commitment to obtaining a relevant professional qualification such as the Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.- Demonstrable experience relevant to the role requirements ideally within the investment industry.- Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel skills.- Accuracy and attention to detail.- Strong written and oral communications skills.- Well organised, strong workflow management and problem-solving skills.- Good people skills and sound cross culture and cross functional work ethic.Desirable Experience/Skills- Experience in conducting due diligence on managers, experienced in using eVestment or comparable platforms.- Experience in preparing client reports and supporting preparation of client presentations.- Experience in risk management/analysis with knowledge of risk systems (Blackrock Aladdin, MSCI, Axioma, Factset, Bloomberg etc).- Coding capabilities.
