Job Description

The opportunity Here at QBE, we have a brilliant opportunity to join the risk team on a permanent basis as a Risk Analyst. This position will play a key role in delivering ERM and Risk Challenge activities, including, supporting the production of the quarterly ORSA updateto the Risk & Capital Committee, and supporting the production of the Annual ORSA Report as well as quarterly risk dashboards. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in the internal model governance processes including internal model validationof both qualitative and simple quantitative model components and expert judgement reviews. You will build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer focus (for internal customers and regulators), including throughERM Business Partnership model for Issues & Incidents Management and Risk & Control Self-assessments (RCSAs).For this position we are happy to consider recent graduates who have an interest in developing a career within Risk.   • Providing insights to the business: As part of each deliverable and each interaction with the business you will be curious and inquisitive to enable you to provide high-quality insights to enable better risk management and business decisions.You will be tenacious in delivery and be aware of the implications of your recommendations for the business. You will support process improvements which will require frequent engagement with all functions.
  • Stakeholder engagement: You will participate in business meetings with various functions to understand and support business requirements. You will focus on our internal customers and put yourself in their shoes’. You will build and maintainstrong relationships with these stakeholders, creating customer focus and supporting the business in decision making by improving awareness and understanding of risk. These relationships will enable you to become a recognised Risk contact throughout QBE EO.
  • Being a technical expert and key deliverables: The role will require delivery of key reporting to the standards expected of an ERM Risk Analyst for. This will include:
    • Supporting the production of the quarterly ORSA update to the Risk & Capital Committee, including but not limited to the development, monitoring and refinement of key risks, control environments and emerging risks.
    • Supporting the production of the Annual ORSA Report.
    • Supporting the delivery of internal model governance processes including internal model validation of both qualitative and simple quantitative model components and expert judgement reviews.
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer focus, including through ERM Business Partnership model for Issues & Incidents Management and Risk & Control Self-assessments (RCSAs).
    • Assist in the production of quarterly risk dashboards to management committees, providing insights to enable risk-based decision making.
    • Implementing the various components of the QBE ERM Framework within EO in accordance with Group standards where required.
    • Being an advocate of and actively demonstrating good risk management discipline; and
    • Collaborating with other Risk colleagues, working as one team, and demonstrating engagement across all assurance functions.
About you
  • Ability to analyse data to provide insights to wider business through reports and dashboards
  • Strong attention to detail and proficient with all Microsoft applications.
  • Good engagement and relationship management with the ability to influence.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Conversant with risk management processes, language, and tools/systems.
  • Experience in general insurance industry is desired but not essential.
  • Degree educated desirable but not essential.
