Full or Part time roles available We are passionate about the quality of care we offer to our patients with respiratory disease. Our team is growing, and we are now able to offer an exciting opportunity for a full or part time band 7 Respiratory physiotherapist to join our integrated team at the University hospital Lewisham site. This is a role that requires a real passion for respiratory care as well as experience in caring for patients with COPD, bronchiectasis ,asthma and other long term respiratory conditions within the hospital, outpatient clinic and community setting.The post holder will be part of an innovative new service which provides respiratory care across both primary and secondary care.Working with a team of experienced clinicians led by a nurse consultant, the post holder will be an integral member of our team supporting the assessment, diagnosis and management of respiratory patients in a variety of settings, including outpatient and community clinics, ward patients, residential homes and in patient’s own homes.The team manage the home oxygen service and will be supporting complex and vulnerable patients post admission. This new role will be essential in supporting the follow up of patients with long COVID.You will be involved with patients in their own homes who are struggling with recurrent infections and need education and support with chest clearance. You will also be an independent prescriber or be prepared to undertake this course. There will also be opportunities for gaining other extended scope skills such as capillary blood gas taking and anaylsis and spirometry assessment and analysisThe post holder will support nursing and medical colleagues in training and education, as well as deputising for the nurse consultant in management and leadership roles. They will also support our pulmonary rehabilitation team and breathe easy group.
