The Homes both mainstream and disability primarily support young people aged between 11-18 years. We believe that regardless of any previous traumatic experience, all young people have the potentialfor overcoming that trauma and to grow and develop to reach their potential.Residential Child Care Officers work a part of the wider team within Childrens Social Work. The main function of the service is to provide high quality safe residential care for youngpeople and to work as part of a team to deliver services in line with the Councils vision, values, policies, procedures, and priorities. We adopt a holistic approach which attempts to create opportunities for young people to empower themselves and to developtheir problem-solving capacities so to better meet their own developmental challenges, develop positive relationships and move successfully into adulthood. We offer a range of social and therapeutic mindful interventions to assist them in this journey andsupport their transition into young adults.The successful candidates will be responsible for providing day and night supervision for children and young people in residential care.
