The Research and Innovation Advocacy Officer will play a crucial part in advocating for a step-change in investment into respiratory research and innovation. Reporting to the Head of Research and Innovation Advocacy, it will demand an innovative approachto advocacy, driving the development of compelling messages to influence major research funders, government and industry.One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases- from mild asthma through to lung cancer - the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation is here for every one of them. We provide support, fund vital research, and campaign for better prevention, treatment and care.The prioritisation of respiratory disease withinthe NHS and the recent 10-year Life Sciences Vision provides an unprecedented moment to build the future of respiratory research and innovation and transform outcomes for millions of people who are battling to breathe. You will help us drive a substantialincrease in the UKs investment into respiratory research and innovation, which in turn will radically change how lung conditions are diagnosed, managed and treated.Applying your skills in developing high-quality briefings and position statements, you willhelp us to be more effective in targeting and influencing senior stakeholders.
