Job Description

Fully Remote Product & Programme Manager (Open source)£100,000+We are partnered with an exciting business - put together by ex-FANG engineers!Together, they collate as some of the brightest minds whose aim is to create some of the best developer tools in the industry - making it easier and smoother to build in their space. They have recently raised 20£ million in series A funding and they areon a mission to transform the industry and continue as the leading and cutting-edge solution. Now is an exciting time to join the business as they embark on a growth phase… wanting to expand the team by 20+ heads in the year to come. Their enterprise-scalesoftware is built in the cloud and on the latest Open Source technologies such as Go, Python, Djgano and AWS…The RoleWe are helping them hunt a unique role, a Product and Programme Manager. This is not your typical role… you will ooze passion for Open Source, be community-led, help support the rapidly accelerating pace of activity in a large project and also help leadthe projects direction. Ideally, you will have previous experience as a network engineer, you will have built a community and have the ability to keep your ear to the ground - working with the community, engineering team and product team to make improvementsand ensure that everything that the team are working stay at the forefront of innovation.

  • You will have a thirst for knowledge in technology, experience within open source project management and an expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle (from fielding and prioritising feature requests, bug reports and pull requests to packagingreleases).
  • You will have the capacity to manage a high volume and frequency of activity across multiple channels.
  • You will be able to demonstrate empathy and youll have the capacity for authentic engagement with a large and diverse community with varying priorities and levels of expertise.
Responsibilities:
  • Top quality project advice - ensuring that you triage, prioritise and communicate the project activity effectively to ensure that it remains at the highest standard.
  • Roadmap planning and management.
  • Help manage the community of maintainers and also engage with them and its contributors.
  • Improve and manage project processes.
  • Moderate discussions across community channels utilising GitHub and Slack.
  • You will manage, engage and create supporting programmes within the community.
