Role/ Department: Global Family Office (GFO) is a sales and client servicing team dedicated to supporting very wealthy families and their charities and foundations. With over $200mm in investable assets, these families act like institutions but require a personal and high touchapproach, as well as the highest level of discretion. Our families wealth is mixed in nature with some being multi-generational inherited wealth and some being new entrepreneurial wealth. A Relationship Manager is responsible for addressing the complex financial requirements of families and their offices across the globe. Works with a select number of ultra-high net worth families and family offices to deliver and oversee a broad range of investmentadvisory, investment management, custody, banking, fiduciary and tax services. .Anticipates and identifies opportunities for expanding these complex relationships. Acts as key consultant to lead internal partners in all aspects of Wealth Management Group capabilities. The key responsibilities of the role include: Principal Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates sound technical/industry knowledge to support the management and delivery of range of products and services available to Family Office clients from moment of appointment including the transition, analysing client needs, recommending improvements,and assessing the impact of any newly recommended or additional financial services.
  • Facilitates planning sessions to develop new solutions to client needs. Anticipates or creates opportunities for enhancing client relationships through new products or services or increased consulting activities.
  • Educates client on emerging issues, regulatory and tax changes, and the general financial environment as appropriate. Translates the impact on client activities and how it relates to NTs services
  • Cultivates strong working relationships with client contacts. Demonstrates ability to add value by anticipating possible solutions and partnering with client to implement.
  • Responsible for the overall satisfaction of the client relationship and in doing so develops a complete understanding of clients business, objectives, goals, and market challenges.
  • Is responsible for all KYC, AML and supporting documentation such as service level descriptions across relationships.
  • Ensures overall client satisfaction by facilitating efforts of cross-company service team, coordinating resources to ensure timely delivery and issue-resolution, and effectively communicating client concerns/needs to partners.
  • Works with internal partners throughout the bank to facilitate implementation of solutions to client needs.
  • Cross sells products/services and leads the development of new solutions to client needs. Coordinates presentations, brings in experts when appropriate, "closes the sale", ensures smooth delivery of new services, and communicates emerging needs.
  • Manages client profitability. Understands competitive environment and anticipates and identifies opportunities, develops pricing strategies, works to enhance profitability.
  • Ensure client confidentiality at all times
  • Implement client servicing model as defined for each client as well as strategic annual client reviews.
Client Meetings
  • Conduct regular client service review - Plan meetings, send agendas and ensure that all Northern Trust partners attending meetings are fully briefed.
  • Plan and run the relationship review and ongoing meetings as needed
  • Prepare call reports within 48 hours of the meeting
  • Drive follow up items from any client meetings and interactions
  • Follow up with internal parties on any queries/issues which arise from meetings within 24 hours.
Documentation/Administration
  • Maintain all documentation/files as appropriate to each client relationship.
  • Client reviews accurate and completed on time

  • Direct experience in interacting with demanding clients or prospects and meeting their needs
  • Excellent organizational skills and comfort in prioritizing competing demands
  • Ability to perform under pressure and to be flexible with working when required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
