Job Description

Are you currently employed in the fields of finance, claims, or management information within the insurance industry and interested in transitioning into a reinsurance role Alternatively, are you already working in reinsurance and seeking an opportunityto join an experienced team that is one of the largest purchasers of reinsurance in the Lloyds of London market My client, a well-established insurance company, is currently seeking a Reinsurance Analyst to join their team.As a successful Reinsurance Analyst, you will be responsible for compiling data and providing analytical support to the reinsurance team in the planning and purchase of the reinsurance program. This will involve collaborating with various departments withinthe organization, including underwriting, finance, exposure management, and capital teams.What you will actually do -

  • Assisting in the business planning and purchase of all types of reinsurance
  • Working with the finance team for quarterly reforecasts
  • Participating in the compilation of renewal submissions and associated management information
  • Coordinating with exposure and capital teams to ensure accurate modelling of the reinsurance program
  • Supporting the Reinsurance team with the necessary work for the RDS return
  • Enhancing reporting for the Reinsurance team
  • Collaborating with the team and underwriters to calculate premium adjustments, PCs, and NCBs
  • Ensuring that all reinsurance recoveries are applied correctly to the reinsurance program
  • Managing reinsurance netting down, including addressing any queries
  • Completing monthly/quarterly sign-offs
  • Generating monthly/quarterly reports
  • Building and maintaining broker relationships
  • Assisting with internal requirements
  • Ensuring reinsurance compliance
  • Preparing for and participating in reinsurance audit work (internal and external)
What you will need -
  • 2+ years experience in insurance/Lloyds of London market
  • Reinsurance experience is preferred, but candidates transitioning from finance, claims, or MI departments within insurance will also be considered
  • Accurate and numerate with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across various functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • An understanding of the Lloyds of London market
In return, this role offers a competitive basic salary of up to £47,000, along with extensive benefits, a discretionary bonus, and a hybrid working arrangement (2 days in the office per week).
