Nomura presents a unique opportunity to learn and gain experience of a broad range of products and business lines within a supportive setting and surrounded by skilled professionals.Role description:The role is within the Corporate Reporting and Control Group within Finance, which comprises around 60 people in London and Mumbai. There are three main teams which cover Financial Control, Regulatory Control and Finance Resource Management. These teamsare supported by Accounting Policy and Regulatory Policy teams. The Regulatory Control team is also supported by an offshore team in Mumbai.The London Regulatory Control team consists of 8 people, with a wide variety of responsibilities including producing external and internal Regulatory Reporting for the European consolidation group and UK regulated entities (including the main broker dealer,Nomura International plc). This includes quarterly COREP regulatory reporting for Capital Adequacy, Large Exposures and Leverage, capital assurance, planning and forecasting, Pillar 3 production, ICAAP support and regulatory policy analysis. They also provideoversight to the Mumbai Regulatory Control team. The team has a hybrid working pattern with 2 days a week in the office (Monday/Thursday).The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of external Regulatory submissions, including COREP Capital Adequacy, Large Exposures and Leverage
  • Calculation and reporting of Credit/Counterparty Credit Risk RWAs and Large Exposures
  • Preparation of internal MI for various stakeholders (including senior management and Business Units) to explain the RWA breakdown of the European Group and regulated entities
  • Responding to business / management driven queries & requests
  • Improvement of data quality through upstream remediation
There will also be the opportunity to assist with the implementation of new processes as the regulatory landscape continues to change and also the enhancement of the existing control environment, by working with IT and Change teams to deliver automated solutions.It will include working with colleagues in London, Mumbai, Frankfurt, and Tokyo. It may include the opportunity for managing and developing junior team members.The role will be challenging and will provide a variety of responsibilities covering technical, process & interpersonal elements. It will be an excellent opportunity to further develop knowledge of Regulatory Reporting and provide a deep insight into Capital,Risk & Leverage requirements.Key objectives critical to success

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
  • Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk RWA and Large Exposures calculation experience
  • COREP Regulatory Reporting production experience in an investment bank experience is desirable but not essential
  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable but not essential
  • Organised and methodical with attention to detail
  • Control focused mindset
  • Results focused in a pressurised environment with tight reporting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience of managing junior team members desirable but not essential
  • Additional knowledge of Axiom and data transformation/visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau/Alteryx, Power BI) also useful but not essential
  • MS office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
