We are seeking a proactive and an enthusiastic professional to join us at the Institute of Physics (IOP) as a Registration Officer.The roleThis is an exciting role that involves the maintenance of professional standards for physics-related professions,the promotion of the IOPs role in professional registration to employers and CPD monitoring for the maintenance of professional registration.The post holder will be responsible for supporting key elements of the IOPs Royal Charter obligations. Under theCharter the IOP awards its own Chartered Physicist professional qualification. We are also licensed by both the Engineering Council and the Science Council to award their professional registrations, upholding these standards will also be part of the post holdersresponsibilities.Additionally, the Registration Officer is responsible for supporting and promoting these qualifications through providing accurate advice and guidance to prospective applicants. They will also be responsible for the processing of applicationsfor professional registration and for delivering professional registration workshops. The post holder will organise and run these workshops virtually. There may be occasions where face-to-face workshops are requested and therefore the post holder will be responsiblefor organising and running these both internally at the IOP office, or externally with our current employer contacts (e.g. ACTS). This role involves travel throughout the UK and ROI, particularly in relation to ACTs accreditation.The PersonWe are looking fora professional who has experience and knowledge of registration processes and is able to demonstrate relationship management skills. You should be dependable, proactive and a team player. You should also have experience of managing volunteers as they are integralto our registration processes.The person must have good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to make improvements to systems and processes whilst maintaining adherence to external requirements.
