Job Description

Advantage Healthcare is a leading provider of complex care acrossLondonWorking in partnership with NHS continuing healthcare teams and case management companies our enhanced level of specialist clinical support enables individual clients to remain at home even when the level of care required is highly complex.We are dedicated in providing care for those patients in their own homeswho are too ill to be looked after by carers or family members and who would otherwise be admitted to, or have to remain in hospital, but who do not require 24-hour nursing care.We deliver care 24/7, 365 days a yearWe are looking forPICU/NICU nurses with extensive experience of a tracheostomy/ventilated community based/hospital based children who are prone to being very unstable , to join a very establishedteams ofprofessionals for clients in the North of London to work long days and night shifts in the childrens own home environment with their families.In addition to the Tracheostomy/ventilator- they also needs support with cough assist, observations- SATS monitorand oxygen, peg, clinical obs. , personal care,suctioning,enteral feeds and stimulation. Our currents teams are professional, compassionateand dedicated and we seek a few more people to join them.What we offer:

Some of the duties required will be:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Prioritise daily work in line with clinical/patient need.
  • Maintain accurate and legible patient records in line with professional and organisational requirementsthis includes contemporary paper records and electronic patient record systems.
  • Actively participate and contribute to team meetings, handover and MDTs.
  • Initiates health promotion activities, as appropriate, with individuals, patients and carers.
  • Participate in risk assessment and promote the safety and well-being of patients, staff and any other persons at all times and assist in ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Ensure that all complaints, untoward incidents, accidents and areas of clinical risk are identified and reported to the the branch in accordance with the organisation policies.
  • Keep up to date with professional requirements, health care developments, clinical evidence, National Service Frameworks for practice, National and Local priorities.
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory training.
  • Responsible for the security, care and maintenance of equipment ensuring standards of infection control and safety are maintainedincluding equipment loaned to patients.
  • Supervise care delivery from Non registered staff e.g. HCAs.
For this position we would also require
  • At least 3 years post paediatric registration experience-_tracheostomy, ventilation, neo-natal care, Peg or bolus and/or enteral Feed, Seizure management, dystonic experience, personal care, J peg,
  • Experience of community working
  • Experience of working as a member of a team with other professionals, but also able to work autonomously
  • Valid NMC registration
  • Experience of teaching and assessing students and other staff members( not essential)
  • Able to co-ordinate and deliver complex care that involves other agencies( not essential)
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application
  • Awareness of assessing/managing/preventing risk in the working environment
