Job Description

REED Further Education are currently looking for a Regional STEM Coordinator to deliver basic workshops in schools in across North London.The Role:

  • Deliver basic STEM workshops and taster sessions on topics such as Buoyancy, Hydraulics or Drag & Propulsion to raise awareness and interest in Marine Engineering as a potential career choice. A background in Marine Engineering is not necessary
  • To initiate and build relationships with schools in your area of operation via the delivery of the STEM workshop
  • Use a Marine Engineering (ME) Pod* to deliver the taster sessions in schools, showcase the ME Pod at events and career fairs
  • The role will be home based in London & North Home Counties and will require significant travelling between different locations
  • Occasional travel to head office in London will be required
  • Salary: £28,000 Gross per annum (£22,400 pro rata)
  • 4 days a week (28 hours a week) some days within schools, 1 day for administration such as booking visits and liaising with schools
  • The role is a fixed term contract until March 2022
    • What you will need
  • Experience teaching or delivering training programmes capable of engaging a diverse range of participants
  • Experience of Building partnerships – developing and maintaining successful working and business relationships
  • Successfully communicating with and managing both employees and volunteers.
  • Qualifications in STEM Subject (Desirable) as would need to get up to speed on basic marine engineering quickly
  • Experience working with young people
