Job Description

Job Title Quantitative Strategist - Treasury Strats Location London Corporate Title Vice President Group Strategic Analytics, or Strats, combines expertise in quantitative analytics, modelling, pricing, and risk management with deep understanding of system architecture and programming. In addition to Front Office pricing and risk management, the team alsolooks at Non-Financial Risk (NFR) and develop controls to ensure the business is compliant with the regulatory landscape, as well as optimising core business processes. You will work within Group Strategic Analytics, the Treasury Strats facilitates management of liquidity and funding risks and financial resources across the Bank. The group is responsible for building systems used to price liquidity and funding risk and capitalmeasures into trades and uses a range of approaches to improve risk adjusted profitability including measuring and presenting liquidity (and other) risks so that macro management decisions can be made, and exposures managed. Your key responsibilities
  • Developing functionality within the Banks strategic analytics platform to calculate and optimise portfolio metrics with focus on funding & liquidity risk across trading desks and the Bank globally
  • Automation of daily funding processes and reporting, improvement of existing risk processes and enabling of appropriate controls
  • Continuously improving the existing codebase in a rapidly changing environment, to be able to efficiently develop new functionality
  • Working closely and collaborate with Treasury, Traders, Risk, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design strategic solutions
Your skills and experience
  • Educated to University degree level or equivalent qualification/work experience in a quantitative discipline like finance, mathematics, physics, computer science, econometrics, statistics or engineering, advanced degrees like Master of Science (MSc) orDoctor of Philosophy (PhD) a plus
  • Strong programming skills with previous relevant experience gained in the financial services industry, Python and C++ knowledge is required
  • Work experience on a Financial Resource Management (FRM) desk and/or in optimising collateral management and funding & liquidity risk cost under business and regulatory constraints
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions, in addition to excellent presentational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise against tight deadlines
