Job Description

Our client, a leading global source of ingredients for food, beverage, animal and human nutrition across the world is seeking an experienced Quality Technologist. The role is office based and reporting to the Quality Manager. The essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:The role is designed to support our customer approval process by completing questionnaires and responding to queries related to ingredients traded. The Quality technologist will play a key part in our supplier monitoring program by conducting documentation evaluation and regulatory compliance checks. Other duties may be assigned to provide day to day support to quality department.

  • Investigate non-conformance mainly quality related back to root cause, ensure customer receive satisfactory report with preventative action;
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce non-conformances;
  • Support quarantine and disposal stock handling;
  • Verify and authorise processing activities with 3rd party contractors as required;
  • Support our internal auditing program against ISO9001 and BRC;
  • Deal with quality technical queries from customers & suppliers;
  • Lead & participate to specific projects as identified by the business for improvement of our Quality Management System;
  • Support all other QA department tasks according to workload and priorities, such as:
  • Specifications & MSDS updates
  • COA
  • SOP reviews
  • Conducting product traceability and recall tests on random products based on the in-house system
  • Document control
    • Key competencies:
  • Great understanding of Quality requirements and standard in the food industry (ISO, HACCP, BRC, GFSi etc.)
  • Over 2 years of experience within a Quality, Technical of R&D role in the Food Industry
  • A high level of business English is essential for this role.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Especially proficient in Excel
  • Internal auditing experience desirable
  • Good understanding of root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions management
  • (QADEX, Hamilton Grant etc.)
  • Food labelling / Food legislations training or understanding is essential.
  • Attention to detail - complete all tasks in an accurate and consistent manner
  • Communication skills - able to write and speak clearly and articulately with various stakeholders including supplier, customers and other departments
  • Handles well changes of priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines
  • Be able to work autonomously as part of a small team
