Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced and talented Quality Assurance Manager to join our innovative software development team, helping us to develop high quality network management and analytics solutions for our large enterprise customers.The role will be focused on the management of the existing QA team, to oversee the complete and thorough testing of all PPT’s products across all platforms, to ensure they meet or exceed PPT’s quality standards in line with our SDLC.In addition to maintaining the current testing practice, we are looking for someone who has the passion and drive to enhance and optimize our overall testing capability through a combination of improved processes and diligence, accelerating development of our test automation suite, implementing a large scale test environment, and more.The successful candidate will report directly to the CTO and will work closely with the Development Manager, Product Management and Support during all stages of the software development life cycle up to and beyond product release.What you’ll be doing:
  • Full management of the QA team, incl. tasks allocation, hiring, performance mgmt., etc.
  • Reviewing and helping to define in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Producing detailed test plans; Coordinating their execution via the QA team
  • Ensuring an optimum balance of testing for each release, e.g. testing of new features, regressions, upgrades, performance, scalability, etc.
  • Overseeing the creation of test cases; Ensuring a complete & thorough test case repository
  • Driving (and accelerating) the automation of our test cases suite, as far as is feasible
  • Ensuring all logged defects have the appropriate status, severity and priority
  • Coordinating the maintenance of the QA lab, test servers, etc.
  • Act as a mentor to the QA engineers
    • What we’re looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Software related discipline (or equivalent)
  • A solid understanding of QA principles, backed up by multiple years of relevant experience
  • 2 years team management (of a software QA or development team)
  • Project planning / management
  • Experience of automation tools; and implementing automated tests (directly or via the team)
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Confidence balanced with diplomacy
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with a commitment to meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Must be a team player, with good verbal and written skills
    • Bonus Points:
  • ISTQB certification
  • Familiarity with QTest, Selenium, Wireshark, GNS3, Footprints, Simple Agent, Jira.
  • Good knowledge of virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of scalable, distributed architectures
  • Knowledge of network management and networking technology
  • A good understanding and appreciation of customer-oriented UI design
