Job Description

About the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and TurquoiseThe London Stock Exchange stands at the heart of the most international capital market in the world. Our markets are central to future economic growth and prosperity and attract companies and investors from all over the globe.In September 2009, the LSE announced that it was acquiring Millennium IT (MIT), Sri Lanka, a software company that specialises in developing state-of-the-art low latency high throughput capital markets systems - such as Exchange Trading Platforms, Smart Order Routers, and Surveillance Systems.In Feb 2010 the LSE took 51% ownership of Turquoise which holds approximately 10% market share of pan-European equity trading, operating both an Integrated "Lit" book and a non-display "Dark" book.The LSE UK Equity Market and the Turquoise Market Trading are both provided by MIT.About the Capital Markets Data Solution Application Development TeamThe data solutions team is responsible for providing data solutions for Capital Markets in all business areas for the UK Equity, Derivatives Markets and Turquoise (pan-European Equity Markets).

  • Is small, focused and Agile - consisting of a Product Management, Development team, Application support team, and QA teams.
  • Builds upon and maintains local relationships with the Business and other Product teams (UK Equity Trading, Turquoise Trading and Surveillance teams) with regards to Strategy, Vision, Roadmaps, Business Requirements etc.
  • Progresses the Change Management process for data solutions.
  • Helps the QA teams (offshore) to design, build and execute appropriate test suites.
  • works with users to train them, coordinating the test and acceptance of the final system solution (UAT)
  • gets the technology platform changes deployed into production (working with internal Technology Project Managers and teams who physically manage the environments and perform releases etc)
  • 1st, 2nd/3rd line production support (issue investigation and analysis, evaluation of priority with business)
    • Key ResponsibilitiesTo carry out the following key tasks as QA Lead within Data Solutions UK team:
  • To work within the LSEG capital market technology Data Solutions UK team and be responsible for functional, non-functional, regression and end-to-end certification of Data Solutions. This has contained Java applications, Corporate data warehouse and Business intelligence reports.
  • Work with Capital Markets QA manager to implement QA strategies across the whole Capital markets.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Elastic Stack/Splunk/cloud monitoring software
  • Knowledge of testing Data Cloud Migrations Strategy and Multi-Cloud implementations.
  • Work with the existing Data Solutions QA teams, off-shore QA resources to implement QA strategies to be consistent with the strategies across the Capital Markets.
  • Work with Technology Product Management, Development, Testing, Support, Project Management, Operational Support and Business stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements, agree on acceptance criteria, plan, design and develop test scenarios and take ownership of testing cycle.
  • Must have multi years testing experience on data warehouse technology such as ETL, data migration. Testing experience on BI tools such as Tableau will be also important.
  • Understanding of modern test automation approaches (TDD, BDD etc) and how they fit into a continuous delivery and continuous testing model
  • Must have proven test engineering capability with test scripting experience preferred
  • Manage software testing of both BAU and Project changes working closely with related groups such as Technology Product Management, Development, Testing, Support, Project Management, Operational Support and Business stakeholders
  • Must have solid understanding of test tools and techniques to perform test planning, analysis and test execution (both manual and automated)
  • Must be able to analyse complex functional and non-functional requirements, document detailed test scenarios and test cases and build necessary test data for execution
  • Able to manage stakeholder expectations, raise project delivery risks and provide regular status updates.
  • Good understanding of agile processes, participate in backlog grooming sessions and daily sprint meetings
  • Support and assist the Quality Assurance and Testing Manager in the management of quality and test assurance activities across all the product teams and contracted support partners
    • Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
  • 7+ years experience as a Senior QA Analyst or QA Technical lead
  • 5 + years experience in data warehouse applications
  • Strong programming experience to build and maintain test automation frameworks
  • Strong Capital Market domain knowledge - Credit, Rates, FX or Equities (Equities preferred)
  • Delivered test automation frameworks with complex finance systems
  • Understanding of middleware and cloud-native solutions on AWS or Azure.
  • Understanding of Core AWS and Azure services from architecture & design through to Production.
  • Experience with Server-Side Testing (FIX, XML, Log Files)
  • Must have knowledge of Linux and scripting experience
  • Good understanding of continuous testing tools such as Jenkins and source code management tools including Git.
  • Experience of working with offshore/suppliers of testing services
  • Strong influencing skills and able to challenge status-quo to deliver best practice solutions
  • ISEB / ISTQB foundation or above certification.
  • Experience of Agile methodology and measuring quality metrics for agile teams
