Job Description

As a Python Developer (Derivatives Risk + PandL) you will be in charge of delivering production ready business features and peer reviewing other team members work. Particular attention will be paid to the ability to turn specifications into industrial strengthsoftware solutions within the application that includes derivatives risk and P&L warehouse, used by Rates, FX & Credit traders as the main source of their overnight and intraday risk.Client DetailsMy client is an Investment Bank operating in the financial services industry with offices in London.DescriptionMy London based Financial Services client is looking for a Python Developer (Derivatives Risk + PandL) to engage in the following:

  • Engage in the development of the following application that is the derivatives risk and P&L warehouse, used by Rates, FX & Credit traders as the main source of their overnight and intraday risk. It is a global system of 1000 active users that presents riskfor credit derivatives, bond and IR/FX products. It is closely linked to the DVS grid system, which computes the risk.
  • The successful candidate will be a senior developer, in charge of delivering production ready business features and peer reviewing other team members work. Particular attention will be paid to the ability to turn specifications into industrial strengthsoftware solutions within the bespoke applications architectural framework.
  • The development team follows agile scrum methodology so experience of this way of working is desirable.
  • Developers are asked to work in a high pressure and intellectually demanding environment where the emphasis is put on both delivering features to users in a timely manner yet ensuring the platform remains reliable and scalable.
  • The production platform is supported by a separate team, where the development team are only expected to provide 3rd line support (rare).
ProfileTo be considered for the Python Developer (Derivatives Risk + PandL) role at my Financial Services clients site in London, the candidate must present evidence of the following:Essential Skills:
  • Object oriented design, design patterns and System Architecture.
  • Expert level in Python
  • Linux
Desirable skills:
  • Python Django and Twisted experience.
  • Experience of either C++ or Java
  • Experience of some of the following devops technologies: docker, kubenetes, ansible
  • Object Oriented databases. Apache Ignite database
  • SQL Database design
  • Analysing/tuning programs and platforms for high performance.
  • Websphere MQ, ZeroMQ.
Job OfferReceive up to £750 per day INSIDE IR35.Minimum 6 month contract.Opportunity for hybrid working.
