Job Description

Project Manager Structural/Architectural Metalworks Covering London and The Home Counties Market leader in structural/architectural metalwork is currently looking for an exceptional Project Manager to join their business on a permanent basis to manage and oversee numerous structural/architectural contracts, knowledge of refurbishment works would be advantageous.The company manage a number of large well-known projects in the industry and work alongside some of the best main contractors. This would be an excellent position for someone who is experienced in the industry and would like to apply their skills, knowledge and experience on other well-known, large scale projects. The role would involve overseeing approximately 8 projects ranging from values of 10k to 1.5m, generally in the London/Home Counties area.Responsibilities include:

  • • Oversee project from client award through to handover, coordinating the design, production & installation fully
  • • Carry out site surveys and pre-erect site surveys
  • • Inspect site prior to project commencing to ensure site is ready
  • • Understand the project requirements/ scope of works/ specifications etc.
  • • Liaise with Client’s site teams,engineers and internal and external Draughtsmen
  • • Liaise with the Site Manager to ensure delivery of client project demand
  • • Manage Site Teams and Sub-contractors when required
  • • Liaise with the Company Buyer, Workshop and QSs successfully working as a team
  • • Identify and manage any day-to-day issues
  • • Direct port of call for Site Teams
  • • To make sure all Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to
  • • Ensure all material and fixings are ready to go to site as per program.
  • • Responsible for issuing RAMs, Early Warning Notifications
  • • Snagging off
    • Required Skills & Experience
  • • Excellent knowledge and ability to read structural drawings, connection details and specifications of various quality.
  • • Highly organised
  • • Ability to produce programs.
  • • Positive attitude to problems and dealing with staff & Clients at all levels.
  • • Understanding of Construction Management Process
  • • Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects
  • • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
  • • Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
  • • Knowledge of MS Office
  • • Excellent time management ability
  • • Ability to multitask with strong understanding of core manager duties
  • • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills

  • • SMSTS Health & Safety qualification
  • • NVQ Level 7
  • • CPCS Appointed Person
    • Salary: Competitive, dependent on level of experience.
