Job Description

This role is to provide project management support to the Immunisation and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Division. The Division is responsible for:

  • the national surveillance of most vaccine preventable infections
  • providing technical support and clinical expertise to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and to the NHS in planning and delivering the national immunisation programmes
  • secretariat to the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation
  • engagement with the Global Polio Eradication Programme by providing secretariat for the independent national polio committee, which report to the WHO
LocationThis role is based in the UKHSA Colindale office, 61 Colindale Avenue, London, NW9 5EQEssential Criteria:It is important through your application and Statement of Suitability of 500 words that you give evidence and examples of proven experience of each of the essential criteria (for full details of all essential criteria please refer to the attached job description, you must review this to produce your statement of suitability):Essential
  • Experience of working in a medium complexity project team or work stream lead for a small low complex project with working knowledge of project delivery methodologies and frameworks preferably in a scientific or healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of planning, scheduling, budget management, resource management, risk and issue management and quality management in a project or programme environment. or appropriate skills that have been gathered in a non-project environment.
  • Working knowledge of governance, assurance, requirements management and change control in a project or programme environment or appropriate skills that have been gathered in a non-project environment.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, collaborating across boundaries with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
  • Ability to liaise with senior scientists and medical professionals external to UKHSA with credibility.
  • Strong capability in using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desirable
  • Professional experience in a similar organisation, healthcare organisation or academic institution
  • Knowledge of online survey tools
  • Knowledge and experience of Project Management methodology supported by professional qualifications such as APM Project Management Qualification, PRINCE 2 Practitioner, Agile Project Management Practitioner and PMI Project Management Professional
