Our activities are acknowledged as being authoritative and independent, many being applied internationally.CIRIAis recognised for its outputs in support of the design, construction and management of infrastructure. The Project Manager role would cover a range of topics including geotechnics, asset management of transport, coastal and other infrastructure and environmentalaspects.Your work will involve: Delivery of projects, including engaging and management with Advisory Panels and Project Steering Groups, managing contracted specialists producing high quality, nationally regarded publications and other outputs. Stakeholderengagement, helping us to understand and respond to the challenges faced by the industry, its clients and suppliers, and their needs for guidance and capacity building. Scoping out identified topics and securing the funding and resources to deliver a programmeof activities in this area. Most CIRIA projects are collaboratively funded by the industry and its clients Promoting and managing dissemination and implementation of project outputs including events and training. Keeping abreast of emergent academic thinkingand opportunities to deliver impact and embed researchThe work provides an excellent opportunity to gain an insight across the industry and to make a real difference to its performance.Candidates should: have an appropriate degree with 5-10 years relevantindustry experience be able to demonstrate excellent communications, inter-personal and organisational skills be comfortable working in topic areas and with a range of professionals from different disciplines relevant to the construction environment.SELECTIONCRITERIAThe candidate should be able to demonstrate:Project and time management Experience in managing projects across different stakeholder groups Strong time-management and planning skills Progress and budget monitoringCollaboration Leading / facilitatinggroups or projects without direct line-management or contractual relationship Some involvement, of collaborative working to produce guidanceCommunication and engagement Good writing/review skills and experience of writing/reviewing for particular audiencesEngagement skills - The ability to create and maintain business relationships Presentation skills Business development skills - the ability to develop project proposals and secure projectTechnical and analytical skills A sound understanding across a rangeof civil engineering disciplines.
