Job Description

Programme ManagerLondon, flexible hybrid working£52,000-£58,000 FTE5-Month Fixed-Term ContractFull-time, 34 hours per weekSuccessful candidate will be due to start in the beginning of SeptemberCharity People are working with an incredible organisation that aims to maximise well-being and social justice within environmental limits through innovative economic thinking and practical solutions. Their work involves pilot projects, in-depth research,campaigning, and informing policy.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Programme Manager to champion the effective design, development, and delivery of impact across the organisations diverse initiatives. This role encompasses a holistic approach, working collaboratively with colleagues,partners, and stakeholders, ensuring their programmes align with the strategic priorities and drive positive change.Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the role provides fundraising-, grant-, and stakeholder management for a cohort of key funders and programme partners, and supports effective cross-organisational programme management and re-granting toa diverse cohort of organisations partners and allies.About the roleProgramme / Project Management: Lead in establishing a consistent approach to project management and governance, fostering alignment with our theory of change. Integrate fundraising strategy into programme delivery to maximise impact. Supportprogramme assessment, learning, and evolution, enabling organisation to evolve into a genuine learning organisation.Fundraising: Collaborate closely with Directors, the Head of Fundraising, and colleagues to refine and support the overarching fundraising strategy. Ensure proposed programmes harmonize with objectives and align with strategic ambitions.Grant and Stakeholder Management: Design and implement stewardship plans for our esteemed funders, securing long-term relationships and enhancing funding opportunities. Support colleagues as relationship holders for trusts and foundations,ensuring the implementation of agreed stewardship plans. Ensure grant commitments are fulfilled, and manage the grant function.Re-granting Management: Collaborate in designing, overseeing, and delivering an inclusive internal re-granting process, meeting objectives and partner needs. Lead in ensuring committed capacity-building support for grantees.Line Management & Organisational Development: Provide effective line management, championing staff, and supporting personal development and wellbeing. Model visible inclusive leadership, actively participating in leadership team meetings,and fostering engagement.About youThe ideal candidate for this role brings a diverse skill set to the table, encompassing:

  • Strong track record in creating and implementing organisational systems that foster effective teamwork.
  • Excel in project management, creating comprehensive work plans with proper resourcing and time estimates.
  • Additionally, you will bring experience in either Fundraising, Business Development, or budgeting for strategic plans and programs.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, combined with a desire to collaborate across diverse backgrounds, demonstrate their ability to navigate cultural differences and power dynamics. You will have a unique talent for translating complex organisationaland thematic strategies into practical, fundable programs aligned with organisations objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Adept at coaching colleagues to develop high-quality fundraising strategies and program designs, acting as a supportive critical friend while fostering a positive team spirit.
  • Alignment with organisations goals, dedication to equity, inclusion, and diversity, and an empathetic approach.
