Programme Director (Data Centre Migration) 6 Months London - Onsite Umbrella only Role overview:We are searching for an experienced and highly skilled Data Centre Migration Program Director to spearhead a complex and large-scale migration initiative from an on-premises data centre to Microsoft Azure. This role requires a seasoned professional capableof successfully managing end-to-end data centre migration programs, with a particular emphasis on possessing exceptional senior customer-facing skills for a demanding retail customer.Responsibilities:

1. Program Leadership:- Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of a large-scale data centre migration program to Microsoft Azure.- Develop and communicate the programs vision, goals, and objectives to the project team and stakeholders.
2. Strategic Planning:- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including a demanding retail customer, to define migration strategies and roadmaps.- Develop a comprehensive migration plan, considering servers, databases, middleware, applications, and network components.
3. Team Management:- Build and lead a cross-functional team of project managers, technical experts, and support staff.- Provide direction, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of migration tasks.
4. Vendor Management:- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure seamless integration of services and technologies during the migration.- Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with project timelines and deliverables.
5. Customer Facing Skills:- Interact directly with senior stakeholders and representatives of the customer.- Understand and anticipate customer needs and concerns, ensuring a proactive and customer-centric approach throughout the migration.
6. Risk Management:- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the migration and develop mitigation plans.- Implement strategies to minimise downtime and ensure business continuity throughout the migration process.
7. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:- Establish clear and effective communication channels with all stakeholders, especially the customer.- Provide regular project updates and reports, addressing customer-specific concerns and requirements.
8. Quality Assurance:- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes.- Ensure the successful migration of data and applications with minimal disruption to business operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Applied knowledge of a large-scale data centre migration and modernisation of a complex IT environment to Microsoft Azure.
• Customer Facing Skills: Proven ability to engage effectively with demanding retail customers, build strong relationships, and manage customer expectations.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to navigate complex customer requirements and vendor agreements.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt communication style and strategies based on the audience, whether technical teams or senior retail executives.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Demonstrated commitment to delivering solutions that align with and exceed customer expectations.
