Job Description

Production SupportPermanent Full-timeWest London£22,000 - £24,000 + BenefitsKerr Recruitment is operating on behalf of our client, a successful and growing medium sized packaging company. Our client is seeking to appoint an energetic Production Support.Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pmMain Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the day to day activities within the Production Department
  • Test materials samples during all the process of the production
  • Review of manufactured returns issues and communicate with customers and other departments
  • Carry out production audits and maintain product technical data
  • Update production system and raw material stock level
  • Collect and present daily production data
  • Produce weekly, monthly and yearly production summaries
  • Liaise with stock control for production planning and stock replenishment
  • Support Sales Team with technical & packing information and certificates of conformity
  • Initial point of contact for queries from Sales, Despatch and other departments
  • Monitor and update maintenance
  • Record maintenance spend and identify possible improvements
  • Maintain maintenance plans and book engineers
  • Check spares inventories & remove obsolete parts
  • Implement quick fixes for machinery breakdowns
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and place orders for emergency items
  • Management of staff training records, distribution of all new training material and production process updates
  • Administer and support Production Staff
  • Support for new material trials
    • Ideal Candidate Would Have
  • Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Bachelors Degree in Science, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • High level of analytic and numerical ability and PC Software literate
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Hands-on and down to earth approach
  • Previous engineering experience would be a plus
  • Keen interest in manufacturing processes
  • Ability to prioritise their own workload, be able to communicate with stakeholders, suppliers and other departments.
