Job Description

Role Title: Product Owner - Pricing Platform (Actuary)Department: Digital Transformation TeamLocation: LondonType: PermanentAbout the RoleMy client is implementing a new, vendor purchased, Pricing Platform to replace all its current pricing models. The current models are predominately based in MS Excel and Access. The new Platform will be rolled out in sprints, but when completed will havefull coverage across the Global portfolio. This is as much a cultural change as it is a technical/process/data change. The Product Owner will report to the Digital Transformation Portfolio Head.About the Department & TeamThe Digital Transformation Team (DT) reports into the Chief Digital Transformation Officer, responsible for the delivery of key services to the Business ranging from technical to business process changes. The team provides the architecture and the deliveryskills and resources required to support business outcomes.The team evaluate business performance and provide management with a clear, risk-based view for making decisions on business strategy and risk mitigation. The department covers all aspects of actuarial work including pricing, reserving, capital modellingand business planning. The team also collaborate with other functions in the actuarial support of capital management, exposure management and reinsurance purchasing & strategy.Skills and Experience

  • Qualified/newly qualified Actuary
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, ideally in P&C reinsurance pricing with both US and RoW experience
  • Requires educational attainments 2.1 in a numerate/scientific degree
  • Requires knowledge of MS Excel (essential), VBA, MS Access, SQL
  • Strong knowledge of Python preferable
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills, communicating with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical language into an easier way to understand by the business
  • Expertise and appreciation of actuarial techniques
  • Keen problem solver, strong analytical and decision-making skills required
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering complex initiatives
  • Agile practitioner capabilities and experience working with or in Agile teams
  • Proven success managing a large set of stakeholders with different needs
  • Ability to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders
  • Strong teamwork, co-ordination, organisation and planning skills
