Job Description

Marlin Selection are currently working with an innovative energy trading firm that particularly focuses on renewable energy and are backed by a Fortune 500 listed company; they are presently hiring for a Product Control Manager to join their team in London.The Product Control Manager will have an opportunity to make a substantial difference in the company’s future growth by both leading a team and by providing key product control expertise predominantlyfor Power and Gas products.Your responsibilities would include:

  • Leading and developing your team of Risk Reporting Analysts.
  • Supporting the growth agenda by ensuring that new business opportunities are assessed appropriately within the businesses risk framework.
  • Responsible for daily/monthly P&L (Gross Margin & Volume Risk Management) processes and timely provision of monthly key performance indicators to enable the business team to understand and manage trading performance.
  • Using knowledge of the book’s activities to understand and explain commercial activities and strategies.
  • Responsible for reviewing and checking daily physical and paper transactions have been posted correctly, are within Frameworks, and to ensure the hedging is carried out correctly each day.
  • Owning the month-end and quarter-end processes, including accountability for ensuring that Risk Reporting (Product Control) outputs are compliant with accounting standards and policies; Escalation point for trading limit breaches and other significant financialissues and incidents.
  • Liaising with internal and external audit teams on Risk Reporting (Product Control) matters.
You will need to have the following experience:
  • Minimum 4 years product control experience within Power (Purchase Power Agreements) and Gas energy trading.
  • Risk Reporting (Product Control) & Volume Risk Management (VRM) experience; a deep understanding of trading concepts and exposure and the key controls required to support a trading business.
