Job Description

Sanderson Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a leading client in the UK to recruit a Procurement Manager working within the commercial procurement team for our client based in Canary Wharf, this is a hybrid role working on average onceper week from the head office.The Role:

  • End to end procurement activity through to contract award, across all business categories.
  • Maintaining over 250 contractual agreements (past and present) using a contracts database
  • Annually procuring and letting contracts on average one new contract provision per week
  • Annually overseeing the authorisation of Purchase Orders and overseeing the management of approximately 300 suppliers
  • Implementing contract management policy
  • Delivery of a variety of procurement activities in line with the Procurement Policy and the Public Contract Regulations 2015
  • Agree sourcing strategies and plans and implement timely procurement to meet organisation requirements
  • Provide procurement and contract management guidance and advice to internal
  • Manage end to end tender activities including drafting tender documentation, evaluation, supplier meetings and agreement of contracts, through to contract award
  • Manage all procurement within the required procurement legislation and internal policies and procedure
  • Embed the procurement strategy, objectives, and programmes into the longer term strategic financial plans for the business
  • Contribute to drafting and implementing robust procurement policies, procedures and strategies
Experience and Knowledge Required;
  • Good understanding of Managing Public Money, PCR 2015 and legal and regulatory requirements, including new procurement reforms
  • Full membership or studying for CIPS desired.
  • The successful candidates will have proven Procurement Management experience, preferably with an awareness of Public Sector Contract.
  • Experience of running end to end procurement exercises including premarket engagement, drafting tender and contractual documents and evaluating tenders
  • Experience of managing more complex, high value procurement
  • Experience of supporting commercial agreements in either the public or private sector and reviewing terms and conditions
  • Experience of using on-line tender portals
  • Experience of purchasing a wide variety of goods and services
  • A good understanding of Social Value in procurement
  • Good understanding of how contractual arrangements work at an operational level.
  • Fair knowledge of contract law and an ability to advise on contract and commercial aspects including those instances where a claim or conflict arises.
  • Demonstrable experience of contract law or legal knowledge advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills
