Advantage Resourcing has partnered with one of the worlds leading energy organisations which currently has a 12-month position working within their Power Trading department. This position provides an opportunity to join Power Trading Operations team, in London.The candidate will be involved in the day-to-day management of power activities, primarily in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and Italy. This includes the opportunity to manage real-time exposure as the candidate executes trades on European Power Exchanges.This requires liaising with grid operators, customers, traders, originators, IT, Finance and other business functions to ensure operational risks are understood, effectively managed and new capabilities are developed in a robust and timely manner.Duties:* Daily scheduling of European Power Grids and nominations* Provide input to IT tool enhancements/requirements and monitor delivery progress* Executing trades bilaterally and on Europes power Exchange* Management of day ahead and intra-day cross-border capacities* Nominating/dispatching generating assets* Contact counterparties on a daily basis to check power positions and trades* Advising supported traders on operational opportunities* Participate in (and lead operational aspects of) change management projects as new business is activated and new grids/assets/counterparties are registered* Provide overviews of assets performance/outturn* Work as part of the weekend rota.Requirements* Experience of at least one European power market - ideally UK and/or Germany, ideally with exposure to other markets* Experience in developing/enhancing processes and systems to improve reliability, scaleability and user-experience* Experience in project management a plus* Proven track record transacting power trades on Exchanges/Trayport* Familiar in the use of an ETRM system (ideally Aligne)* Proficient English a must and at least one further European language desirable* Self-motivated, with an aptitude for accurate problem solving in a very time critical environment* Ability to work in a small-integrated team and express ideas articulately* Flexible approach to working hours to accommodate a range of European markets* Experience with scheduling software a plus* Coding skills (e.g. Python) desirable but not essential* Experience of leading a team preferableThe internal reference number of this vacancy is 837489 however please apply using the application link using your CV.Please note that due to the high number of applications its not always possible to provide detailed feedback to all candidates, please accept my apologies for this.Advantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
