Job Title Policy Expert for Payments in Political Affairs Location London Corporate Title Associate You will be member of the global Political Affairs team of Deutsche Bank which is located in Frankfurt, Berlin, Brussels, London, Washington D.C. and New York. The team is responsible for the early identification and creation of awareness of political agendasand regulatory developments with an impact on Deutsche Banks business strategy. Political Affairs coordinates the development and delivery of bank-wide advocacy positions as the basis for the banks adequate representation in legislative processes. The teamdetermines the banks advocacy strategy, manages Deutsche Banks relationships with key policymakers and regulators, and serves as a source of political and regulatory insights for the banks senior management across divisions. Your key responsibilities

• You monitor and analyse regulatory developments relevant for the Banks business model in the payments area globally, including instant payments, central bank digital currencies, cross-border payments, crypto-assets and the financial services regulationreview
• You prepare regular and ad-hoc briefings for Deutsche Banks senior management on current regulatory and policy topics to ensure awareness within the bank.
• You coordinate with internal experts to develop consultation responses, policy papers and presentations for internal and external use related to policy initiatives in your area of responsibility.
• You support and conduct effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders; prepare and follow-up to relevant meetings and participate in industry events, conferences and hearings.
• You establish and maintain a strong internal and external network with topic experts, industry associations and policy makers

Your skills and experience

• Educated to Bachelors degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience in financial services, politics or law
• Experience in the financial sector, or in public affairs;
• Strong interest in global financial services and innovation, combined with an affinity for regulation and politics
• Ability to work and deliver under time pressure, ambition to deliver high quality, strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; fluent in English. Additional language skills will be considered an asset.
