Job Description

Do you have DevOps or platform developer experience Deerfoot IT Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Platform Engineer, and the role comes with a salary of between £60k - £75kp/a and an attractive benefits package. The position willbe primarily remote, with some travel to your local office plus some potential client travel. UK office location include - Woking, London, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Edinburgh or GlasgowAs a flexible Platform Engineer, you will focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions on IAAS/PAAS platforms as part of dedicated or cross-function teams to engineer modern solutions based on business goals with varying levels ofDevOps maturity.To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Contribute to documentation and standards for delivery of business functionality, infrastructure and system components
  • Actively work with the firms clients on their journey into digital transformation
  • Implement and maintain platforms and services based on the business requirements, constraints and strategies
  • Applying technical innovation with contributions towards internal projects and client bids to win new business.
To apply for the role, you will need experience debugging a complex, multi-server service in a high availability production environment. The following are also required:
  • Experience of commodity cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (Production environments)
  • Skill with continuous Integration systems such Jenkins, Concourse, Drone and Bamboo, GitHub Actions
  • Configuration Management tooling skills (Ansible/Puppet/Chef/Salt)
  • A good understanding of the HashiCorp Suite (Packer, Terraform, Vault, Vagrant, Consul) and Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm, OpenShift).
