We are recruiting to a Junior Planning Lawyer position working within a highly respected, busy London authority. Our London Borough client is looking for a Junior Planning Lawyer on a locum-basis, for an initial 3-month contract with the likelihood ofextension or possibility of permanecy. The role offers hybrid working, with 1 day in the office per week, and they are looking to pay £30 - 40 per hour umbrella rate, dependent on experience. This role is suitable for a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEXwith a keen interest in local government who has relevant legal experience within Planning and Highways law either within local government or the private sector. The client is flexible on the level of experience and is open to taking someone on who is brightand shows willingness to learn, they can offer training in any areas with gaps. The successful Planning Lawyer will join a small team of experienced lawyers who can offer support and guidance. The responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to: *Providing legal advice to planning and highways teams within the Council * Dealing with planning appeals * Drafting, negotiating, and concluding section 106 and 278 agreements * Attending occasional Planning committee meetings This is a great opportunity forsomebody who already has some solid experience looking to progress in their career, or someone qualified with a keen interest in Planning Law within local government with some relevant legal experience for example, within a Planning seat in their TrainingContract.
