Science has always been the heart of RBG Kews purpose. With some 350 members of staff, Kew Science has an extensive research programme that spans the study of genes through to ecosystems - from the analysis of genomes to the discovery and identificationof new species and the impact of climate change on the wild relatives of crops. Our collections, our people and our partnerships enable us to make an invaluable and highly relevant contribution to some of the biggest issues facing the global population, suchas biodiversity loss and climate change. We do this through research, conservation, training and inspiring others about the importance of plant and fungal science.We are now looking to appoint an outstanding individual as Personal Assistant (PA) to RBG KewsDirector of Science. The postholder will be a key member of our Senior Science Support Team, working with the existing group of PAs to other members of the Science senior management. The main focus of this high profile role will be to provide PA support tothe Director of Science, and it will also involve some support for the Strategic Operations Manager (to whom the postholder will report).The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitorattraction. We are looking for someone with extensive PA experience, proven ability to work on their own initiative and proactively plan, and excellent time management skills. The role does not require a background in Science. You will alsobring outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage with people at all levels and build working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation and externally.
