Job Description

Leading retailer requires a Payroll Specialist to join them on a permanent basis. The purpose of the role is to assist the Payroll team in processing the UK and European payrolls accurately and on time. Mostly this role will be administering, checking, and ensuring legal compliance for UK, and Mainland European retail payrolls. Additional Monthly submissions and auditing will be required for all EMEA payrolls to maintain the high level or service provided to our employees and partners; therefore, clear procedures need to be followed.

  • Collating variable data from numerous sources, whilst performing a reasonable check to ensure what is processed is accurate and approved.
  • Processing and checking of the France, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austrian, Switzerland European payrolls.
  • Administrating monthly, quarterly and annual all 3rd party declarations/payments e.g. meal tickets, Garnishee’s, Pension etc.
  • Administer and Audit Social declarations and payments made by payroll partners.
  • Ensure all payroll processes are kept up to date and are compliant with national laws and regulations.
  • Maintain Sickness (IJSS) declarations and refunds.
  • Monthly payroll journal uploads, accurate and timely.
  • Maintain monthly and quarterly payroll accruals e.g. Bonus, 13th/14th Month, Vacation etc.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure processing accuracy and data integrity.
  • Monthly uploads of money movement/Net payments onto HSBC.Net.
  • Quarterly audit of payroll data held.
  • Ensure payroll processes are in line with SOX compliance.
  • Consistently driving high levels of operational excellence.
  • Ensure to adhere to all company policy and procedures and best practice.
  • Champions the company values.
  • Fluent in English language (required), beneficial if you have German/Dutch.
  • Payroll qualifications required. E.g., CIPP Advanced Payroll Technician.
