Job Description

Walters People have partnered with a leading, globally recognised hospitality business based in the heart of London who are looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Manager on a permanent basis. You will report directly into the Head of Finance and play a pivotalrole in the team, primarily focusing on the management of the companys payroll which will see you interact with all areas of the business.Key Responsibilities as the Payroll Officer:* Conduct relevant checks on fortnightly payroll figures and approve payroll.* Manage any advances, back payments and deductions and salary sacrifice elements.* Ensure holidays and absence are accurately recorded and managed.* Manage pension contributions and submission of pension payments.* Complete monthly and annual Office of National Statistics surveys.* Provide guidance on the payroll system and answer queries on payroll when required.* Ensure all reports are correctly generated such as P60s, P45s, etc; and calculation and submission of P11Ds.* Accurate coding and VAT treatment of expense claims and importing into the Sage accounting system.* Process payroll journals and reconciliations, assisting with month-end duties such as calculating & posting holiday accrual journal into Sage.* Ensure compliance with National Minimum Wage legislation.* Record-keeping to ensure compliance with auditors and government legislation and process court orders ensuring the corresponding deductions are made.About you as the Payroll Officer:This role is ideal for someone who is keen to learn more about payroll, whilst also gaining experience in accounting and holds 1-2 years experience in a similar role.* Experience of working with payroll software, Fourth Hospitality is particularly advantageous.* Proficiency in Excel.* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders in both verbal and written forms.* Organised and an ability to deliver to tight deadlines.* Good communicator with a happy-to-help attitude* Excellent attention to detail and always acting professionally to protect people and the business by keeping information confidential.For more information about this, or other finance roles please contact Robert McShane at Walters People onRobert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
