Job Description

My Client, a progressive mid-tier bank is looking for a Payments Operations AVP with extensive experience within risk and regulations. They are looking for a candidate with excellent payment and payment system knowledge, risk analysis and risk appreciation and experience of interaction with regulators, and understanding of the regulatory text. It is a varied role with elements of governance, risk analysis, management control, and support of strategic planning initiativesPurpose of Payments Operations Manager

  • Compile the periodic risk assessments for the provision of payment services in accordance with EU regulatory expectations
  • Responsible for Business Process Ownership and change management approval for Operational systems which support the provision of payment services.
  • Support the 1LOD challenge in the bank’s Risk Management structure, to the treatment of risk and assessment of the appropriateness of controls employed in the Payment Operation.
    • Requirements
  • Liaise with Risk Management and Compliance teams in 3 other EMEA Offices on Payment Service related matters and periodic submissions to National Competent Authorities.
  • Responsible for arrangement and submission of policy and governance-related documentation to senior management in Operations and Planning Departments
    • Responsibilities of Payments Operations Manager
  • Responsible for creating policy documentation, project charters, and procedural/governance documentation on various operational subjects.
  • Responsible for analysis of regulatory text relating to operational processes, to assess potential risks and impact -- ensuring any changes made by the Bank meet the regulatory expectations.
  • Business process owner (BPO) coordinating the change management forum for specific business applications, providing a control point that ensures objective review of requirements. Accountable for protecting the Bank and the specific systems from inappropriate change.
  • Responsible for collation of the Risk Assessment for Payment Services and arranging the subsequent submission to the appropriate National Competent Authority.
    • Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of payment operations and payment system infrastructures.
  • Familiar with clearing systems via Central Banks (Target / CHAPS) and via the EBA (SEPA)
  • Experience with analyzing regulatory text on operational subject matter impacting the financial sector.
  • Experience writing policy documents, procedure manuals, and user guides.
