Job Description

Payments ManagerPermanentCanary Wharf/HybridCirca £70,000 plus benefitsCer financial are working alongside an international bank to find a Payment Utilities Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The Payments Utilities Team Manager is responsible for ensuring that the accurate and timely processing of Cash Pooling transactionsand associated processes is completed.The Responsibilities of a Payment Utilities Manager will include:

  • Manage the Cash Pooling process ensuring that all payments are completed at the agreed times.
  • Ensure that all Standing Orders and Direct debits are set up and processed according to customer instructions.
  • Manage the Nostro reconciliation items and process related accounting entries in Montran and Profile.
  • Control and reconcile MT191 charge claims ensuring that they are settled in a timely manner.
  • Assume responsibility for the testing and implementation of system enhancements.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements with a view to increasing operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with immediate stakeholders and resolve any queries.
  • Responsible for end of day processing checks.
  • Oversee the full completion of all payments requiring manual intervention in order to facilitate the payment process while ensuring the Montran JGPS and SAA payment queues are completed each day in line with currency cut-off times and procedures.
  • Identify system and process enhancements for remittance systems.
  • Act as a point of escalation for the Utilities team.
  • Manage the escalation and resolution of any issues to management in a timely manner with supporting information and preventative measures implemented to prevent any further reoccurrences.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks delegated by management through to completion within deadlines set.
  • Ensure all BCP plans are regularly maintained, and teams advised accordingly.
  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and provide associates with training plans and ongoing support to complete in timeframes agreed.
  • Ensure objectives are set on a quarterly basis and regular performance meetings with team members and hold quarterly performance discussions.
  • Ensure procedures and daily checklists are maintained and updated where required to incorporate new processes.
  • Strong collaboration with EMEA offices and TD to ensure relationships are upheld.
The Successful Payment Utilities Manager will have:

  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage conflicting priorities across London and EMEA branches.
  • FlexibilityFlexible and versatile attitude is essential due to the range of tasks and deadlines undertaken.
  • ProactivityProactive and self-motivated approach to responsibilities and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent payments formatting knowledge and Industry Standard understanding e.g. PSD2.
  • Excellent understanding of SWIFT payment formatting.
  • Strong communication skills.
