Job Description

London families need your help!Thousands of parents all across London are looking for help while schools are closed and they work during the COVID-19 crisis. We’re on a mission to match them with caring and responsible people who want to make a difference in their local community. You will be matched with just one family to look after their school age children.Childcare is a priority for most families right now. It’s an essential part of their life so that parents can carry on working while schools are closed as well as nurseries and other childcare options due to the COVID-19 crisis. Most parents are working from home but many still have to go out for work. For both cases, having someone to help is essential. What is the role

  • We have thousands of London families looking for childcare. This usually meant after school hours but during the COVID-19 crisis families at Koru Kids are looking for full-time childcare but this can vary from family to family. So once you apply, you’ll be able to meet many families that match with your availability. You’ll work with just one family.
  • You’ll be walking or cycling to the family’s home. This is extremely important during the COVID-19 crisis so you don’t increase the risk of contracting the virus while using public transport. We also have families paying Ubers for their nannies if they’re not living-in or drive to pick up and drop off their nannies each day.
  • You’ll look after the kids organising fun and educational activities, including helping with homework if left by teachers.
  • You may also help with meals while parents work.
  • When applying you’ll be able to choose how many hours you can work and what days per week.
  • What matters most is that you’d love to help a nearby family as they juggle work and family life as they raise their children during these difficult times.
  • We’ll provide continuous support and guidance. We have a dedicated person to guide you through this new job and have plenty of resources available to help you come up with things to do with the kids. You’ll be also invited to join our Facebook group where you can meet and trade ideas with other nannies. We post there every day!Job benefits:
  • It’s local: you’ll only meet families close to you, so you can walk/cycle to work or the family might be able to pick you up. This is super important to avoid any public transport during the COVID-19 crisis.
  • It’s rewarding: You’ll make a huge difference to working families during the current crisis while bonding withtheir children
  • It’s flexible: You choose your availability and we’ll help you find a family who matches you. You’ll have plenty of options to choose from.
  • What are we looking for
  • You need to have some experience working with children but this doesn’t have to be formal experience. It could be babysitting, running drama groups, tutoring or formal experience in a school or nursery.
  • If you have experience raising your own children/grandchildren that’s great too.
  • *We welcome all applicants over 18 but unfortunately we don’t recommend anyone over 70 years old, with underlying health problems, or pregnant to apply due to the UK Government guidelines on self-isolation.Is it OK to work in someone else’s house during the COVID-19 breakoutChildcare is an essential need for many London families so you’ll be a key worker’ and may continue working as usual. At Koru Kids, we are taking all the precautions to reduce the spreading of the virus and we are currently just matching one nanny per family and highly recommend maintaining social distancing and avoiding public transport. Individual families may also want to put in place additional measures. On all cases you must follow the advice on self-isolating and social distancing as recommended by the UK Government.Other benefits:
