Job Description

Start Date: Immediate Pay: Competitive and Subject to ExperienceJob Description -Nursery Assistant (Part time JobShare - Mornings from 8.20am and/or Afternoons to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday -Term Time only). We would also be happy to take someone on full-timeworking8.20am until 5.30pm. Purpose of post To assist in the provision of a high standard ofcare for children placed in Pre School in a way that meets their physical,social, emotional, intellectual and developmental needs in a non-sexist andnon-racist mannerTogive support to all personnel within PreSchoolTo assist with the implementation of the dailyroutine within Pre SchoolResponsible to: Head of Pre Prep Duties and Responsibilities To contribute to the planning and implementationof appropriate programmes of activityfor the children in collaboration withthe Head of Pre PrepTo have a full understanding of the nurserysystems of record keeping and keep records of the childrens development, usingthe nursery key worker systemTo assistant in the provision of an attractiveandstimulating range of equipment, activities and displays, indoors and out,relevant to the ages and needs of the children, which encourage independence,self motivation and eagerness to learnTo assist in the provision of a high qualityenvironment to meet theneeds of individual children from differing culturesand religious backgrounds and stages of developmentTo be familiar with the National Standards and ISIguidelines and recommendations of good practice and assist in theirimplementationTo share the responsibilityfor safeguarding andpromoting the welfare of all children in Pre SchoolTo liaise with parents and encourage theirinvolvement in the aims of Pre School and in all aspects of their childscareTo assist with the domestic management of PreSchool, including ensuringthat it is kept safe, secure and clean at all times.Be prepared to help where needed in the preparation of snacks, meals, cleaningof equipment etc.To respect the confidentiality of informationreceivedTo be aware of the high profile of the Pre Schooland theSchool and to uphold its standards at all timesTo be involved in out of working hours activitiese.g. training, staff meetings, Open Days, Summer Celebration etc.Any other duties appropriate to the post asdirected by a Senior staff memberSpecific Child careTasks To help children with feeding, changing clothes,toileting etcHelp maintain hygienic standards at alltimesProviding comfort and warmth to a poorlychildTo ensure mealtimes are a time of pleasant socialsharingTo report signs of illness, neglect or apparentlynon-accidental inquiryEnsure each child is collected in accordance withthe collection procedureQualifications NVQ Level 2 or 3 EYFS relevant required Paediatric First Aid required An advantage but not essential: Basic Food Hygiene certificate Closing Date: 31/10/2021at 11:00 Interviews: Week of 1st November Information about the school Radnor House Sevenoaks is unique.
