Job Description

McCabe & Barton are partnered with a leading Clearing & Trading House in recruiting for an Non-FunctionalTester on an interim basis. The role will be an initially for a 6 months contract with the view to extend.Rate is £700 per day inside IR35Key Skills and Responsibilites:

  • 5+ Years experience in non-functional testing
  • Significant experience in financial services - ideally anexchange or trading enviroment
  • Strong scripting experience on Jmeter (preferably with an understanding plugin development in Java) and HP Loadrunner
  • Ability to build test harness/script using Jmeter or other open source tools for FIX protocol, TCP based Binary messages, and HTTP/Websockets
  • Ability to analyse and interpret system utilisation metrics, CPU, memory, JAVA heap size etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Performance, Capacity, Stress Testing Techniques/Methods/Tools
  • Good knowledge of Operating Systems, preferably Windows and Linux (including scripting of both) and performance tuning of Linux
  • Good knowledge of relational databases (preferably MS-SQL Server and MySQL) and web servers (preferably IIS)
  • Good knowledge of performance monitoring of Operating Systems and relational databases like Oracle/MySQL/MS-SQL server and Web Servers (IIS)
  • Experience in Financial services is preferable with understanding of SWIFT and FIX protocols and experience with multicast messages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Performance and failover testing experience in a professional role, preferably with low latency
  • Good understanding of Server topology (web/app/DB server), Computer Networks (TCP/IP, load balancers, firewalls), and knowledge of service layers, Restful service, SOAP Web Services, Websockets
  • A strong understanding of commodities derivative products
