Job Description

NHS Key Worker - Porter (Bank)Due to the current demand and increased need for key workers in the NHS during the Covid-19 outbreak, we are currently recruiting hospital porters, to join Imperial College Healthcare Trust’s hardworking and dedicated team at one of their three locations in London, Hammersmith Hospital, St Marys Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital . These are casual positions and you will be employed directly by the Trust.     • Pay Rate: £12.04 per hour (including holiday pay)Locations:
  • Charing Cross Hospital - Hammersmith
  • Hammersmith Hospital - East Acton
  • St Marys Hospital - Paddington
    • Hours of work: Varying shifts available, over 7 days in line with a rota systemThe Role:You will be employed directly by Imperial College Healthcare Trust and duties will include:
  • Transporting patients around the hospital by wheelchair and portable beds
  • Locate and collate items required by the relevant department
  • Porter relevant items across the department and hospital
  • The role will involve manual handling of items
  • Cleaning duties as and when required
    • Person Specification:
  • Experience within the health care sector would be an advantage but not necessary.
  • Enhanced DBS (this can be processed through Reed if required)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Must have a good level of English as you will need to speak to patients, visitors or other staff, as well as reporting any issues, and fully understanding all orders given to you by your superiors.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and have the ability to prioritise tasks where necessary
