Job Description

I have a requirement for a Network Engineer to join an established team who provide premium level project management, design, implementation, and support on behalf of a large IT Professional Services business, whos end client operates globally.You will have full remit for colocated networks globally, along with accountability for market data networks and exchange connectivity globally. Typically, the end user requires purpose built technology solutions with rapid response, execution and troubleshooting.IR35 Status: InsideLocation: RemoteThe Role

  • You will be responsible for the delivery and support of low latency networks and market data infrastructures; including project items delivery, completion of technical design documentation and delivery/installation into 3rd party co-located data centres.
  • You will be expected to collaborate with business partners, application owners, clients, exchanges, vendors (such as carriers) and internal teams (Platforms, Engineering, and Market Data) to deliver end to end solutions in a timely manner.
  • You will demonstrate strong knowledge of external connectivity methodologies (market data, low latency high frequency networks, extranet client connections) in addition to protocol level understanding of network technologies.
  • You will be proficient in scripting to automate repeatable network tasks.
Essential Skills required:
  • You will be certified to CCNP-level as a minimum
  • Very strong skills with F5 LTM, F5 GTM, Fortinet and Cisco ASA
  • You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of:
    • Full TCP/IP stack, BGP, OSPF, PIM, MSDP, VRRP, VARP, VXLAN
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network problems via CLI and tooling, such as analysing packet captures in Wireshark
  • Basic scripting skills for automation (BASH, Python, Ruby) and use of code repositories, such as GIT
  • Basic working knowledge of Linux commands / utilities (GREP, SED, CUT, AWK)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Degree Educated
  • If you have any commercial experience with the following, this is extremely advantageous:
    • Working knowledge of Ansible
    • Working knowledge of Elastic Search
    • Current knowledge of enterprise network automation / orchestration solutions and relevant industry trends.
    • Familiarity with Ansible
