The network manager is responsible for the management of sub-custodians, account operators, central depositories, payment banks and securities markets within our global network to support Northern Trusts asset servicing business. The key elements of the network manager role include: risk management, commercial and relationship management, technical expertise, influencing market change and to develop market models in support of our clients and the bank. Network Management is part ofthe Digital Assets and Financial Markets group - the open position sits within the Europe, Middle East and Africa regional Network Management team. Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing relationships with all agent banks and third party network providers e.g. sub-custodians, account operators, central depositories, tri-party agents, payment banks.
  • For all third party providers, manage service levels and perform due diligence risk assessments.
  • Perform onsite visits (travel required) to maintain core risk management, relationship and expertise benefits, expand relationship generation, strengthen expertise on how markets operate, and support market advocacy.
  • Ensuring assets are protected and held through correct account structures.
  • Managing local market environment relating to the operational, legal, regulatory and infrastructure environment, and preparing/communicating relevant changes to internal and external partners.
  • Provision of consulting services to internal/external partners seeking information and guidance to navigate through operational, regulatory and infrastructure conditions associated with investing in global markets.
  • Contribute to lobbying efforts to influence market change and developments.
  • Support negotiation of legal documentation and lead fee reviews/negotiation.
  • Where applicable, perform market provider RFPs and also new market reviews to support expansion of Northerns network coverage.
  • Market evolution and digital assets to support (i) market evolution and industry change initiatives covering both traditional and digital assets, (ii) foster education in relation to market and digital asset evolution, and (iii) opportunity identificationwith agent banks, market infrastructures and other market entities.
  • Strategically and operationally support Northern Trust business units.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Proven knowledge and demonstrated expertise across global custody / securities services.
  • Seasoned professional expert with extensive technical/business knowledge and functional expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external relationships.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of sub-custodians, clients and internal stakeholders/management.
  • Demonstrated risk management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; written, verbal and non-verbal
  • Demonstrate leadership/ownership skills.
  • Organisation and time management proficiency.
  • Successful project manager.
