Job Description

Job Title: Primary School Teacher with Music SpecialismLocation: Lewisham, LondonPosition Type: Full-time, PermanentSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceWe are seeking a dynamic and passionate Primary School Teacher with expertise in music education to lead a music program and inspire students. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging and high-quality music lessons, enrichingthe curriculum, and fostering a love for music across the school community.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and creative music lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students across all year groups.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that covers key musical concepts, skills, and genres, fostering creativity and musical expression.
  • Lead and coordinate extracurricular music activities, including choir, ensemble groups, and school productions, providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum, promoting cross-curricular learning and enrichment.
  • Assess student progress and attainment in music, providing feedback and support to help students reach their full potential.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to promote participation in musical activities and celebrate student achievements.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Specialism or significant experience in music education, with a strong understanding of music theory, performance, and composition.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students through engaging and interactive teaching methods, fostering a love for music and the arts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the music curriculum, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality musical experiences.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community and participate in school events and initiatives.
