Job Description

Multimedia Support Officer - £16.35ph plus Hol Pay - Central LondonStart Mid-Feb 2020 to 5th June 2020 initiallyWe are recruiting for an experienced Multimedia Support Officer to join one of London’s leading Universities.Overall Purpose of the job The Multimedia Support Officer provides support and assistance to the Multimedia team in all aspects of second line AV support and the delivery of Multimedia production and presentation services. They provide general AV troubleshooting, remedial work of installed systems and assist with the curation and management of our lecture capture/live streaming systems and content. They take part in filming, recording and editing multimedia content using a range of platforms and for uploading content to various channels. Whilst the Multimedia team covers both AV and media production, the primary focus of this role is to support the AV function.The role-holder will:

  • Monitor and respond to customer enquiries via the Service Desk system
  • Deal with multimedia event bookings and assist with event planning
  • Provide second like AV support, undertake remedial repair work on installed AV systems and work closely with the classrooms support team.
  • Liaise with customers and advise them on multimedia services and solutions
  • Schedule and monitor remote lecture/event capture via the Panopto recording service
  • Liaise with the Teaching Support Office and staff from academic departments to provide ad hoc lecture/event recordings on request
  • Edit remote lecture content and upload to various platforms
  • Assist with the capture and editing of audio recordings
  • Set-up and record/film live events
  • Carry out livestreaming of events
  • Assist the Multimedia team with filming, recording and photography in the multimedia studio
  • Assist with multimedia projects
  • Carry out multimedia editing using a range of applications. Ensure quality standards and approved branding are applied
  • Deputise for other team members in their absence
  • Liaise with other staff and departments on all relevant multimedia matters
  • Work to agreed service standards and monitoring multimedia output against these
  • Undertake other such routine duties as may be required
  • PERSON SPECIFICATIONExperience
  • Providing Front Line Multimedia/AV service support
  • Supporting a broad range of applications, devices and associated software
  • Operating and supporting multiple Multimedia production applications across different platforms
  • Editing multimedia content using a range of platforms
  • Remote scheduling and management of event/lecture capture using Panopto or similar system
  • The ability to operate a wide range of video camera models, sound equipment, audio/visual mixing desks and camera/studio lights both indoors and outdoors
  • Practical sound production skills
  • Multimedia integration and platforms e.g. Moodle integration
  • Knowledge
  • Knowledge of sound reproduction systems, radio microphone systems, sound mixing techniques - both live and in studio.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of photographic cameras and photographic editing software. The ability to set up lights accordingly for photo shoots.
  • Proficient in the use of a range of multimedia software including: Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Davinci Resolve
  • Knowledge of lecture capture and event recording systems, including scheduling and editing, integration with other systems and troubleshooting
  • Multimedia applications and operating systems and their management
  • Audiovisual systems knowledge, experience with projectors, knowledge of HD playback systems,
  • Knowledge of sound reproduction systems, radio microphone systems, current audio-visual control systems, back-up systems and disaster recovery
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft office or Mac equivalents
